living near Grand Anse means the beach before breakfast, every shop and bank within walking distance, and a constant bus to town — in exchange for more traffic and visitors than anywhere else on the island. The hillside streets of Morne Rouge and Frequente are where residents actually live; the beachfront is hotels.
What you get
Two miles of sand, Spiceland Mall and Excel Plaza, supermarkets, pharmacies, gyms, restaurants and the Friday fish fry. Grand Anse bus terminal connects you to St. George’s in ten minutes. The airport is ten minutes the other way.
What to know
The strip is busy in season and on cruise days; the hillsides are calm. Morne Rouge (BBC Beach) is the locals’ quieter cove. Frequente is dense with small apartment buildings — great for income, less so if you want a garden.
Property
Apartments and condominiums, family homes on the Morne Rouge hillside, and very occasionally beachfront land. Rental demand is the strongest on the island. See Grand Anse listings.
